Team USA Ortho Reunion July 2010

one week later…

Today has been a great day of worship, rest and rejuvenation! I thank God for all the blessings he has showered on me in the last month especially. I can hardly believe I have been home for a week now. Satan has been attacking my heart and using my sleep deparvation to try to weaken me, but I know I am not alone in this world and thanks to many of you, I have never felt more loved in all of my life. So thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Regardless of the struggles of being in Haiti, or being home from Haiti, I rest assured that HE is in complete control and that HIS grace covers all of my worries and troubles.

Please continue to pray for our Haitian friends and family. My little buddies Jackson and Fritz as they are being transported to a new home today. Not sure of the details yet, but I’ve gotten word from my Haitian brother Chris that they are being relocated. May God give them peace, love and a joyful place to live.

“Trust me in times of trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” Psalm 50:15

Now we’re off to a new week! Holy Week!

“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1Corinthians 10:31

These are my friends Lori & Dr. Dave… Lori did a great job as our circulating nurse. And Dr. Dave did some anesthesia for us. They both kept us laughing most of the time and worked really hard to keep us moving! So glad to work with such awesome people!!

Beware… this video is loud from the engines. This was our hot helicopter ride that all seemed like a big dream! What an adventure! Thanks Drs. Laviano & Hurley for making it possible!

Thank you to everyone in the region who donated crutches, canes and walkers!

This the Italian helicopter that we took to the ship to do surgery on our last day in Haiti. This video was taken a few days earlier before I even knew that later in the week it would be my sweet ride to an outstanding experience! WOW!

This is video of Dr. Hurley talking to a Haitian boy named Mezadi. We met him and his family during the flat tire episode. The amazing part is that he and his mother actually made it to St. Damien’s the next morning and even found me on the roof while brushing my teeth over the wall. They even made it to my tent before I could finish getting my stuff together to meet them at the hospital. It was totally a God thing that we were united again. Once evaluated by Denise and her PT team, they concluded his hand disfunction was due to a form of CP and did not need to be treated with surgery. They were able to brace it and give his mother some instruction for physicial therapy. God is amazing in his divine appointments and how he brings people together in the strangest of circumstances. Thanks Lynell for letting me cross the road with you!
